On page optimization is one of the parts in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). On page optimization covers areas which directly impacts on website's pages. Some of these areas are directly affect the page rank of a website. This makes on page optimization a necessary factor in SEO. Basically it is about making a website search engine friendly. On page optimization improve websites by modifying its contents and website structure. These contents include Meta tags (Keywords, Description, etc), Header tags, Title tag and Alt tags.
There are a number of different areas where you want your keywords to appear, namely in your title, description, keywords, content, heading, and other source code tags.
Now I will go through each of these elements, one by one:
Your keyword or keyword phrase should appear in your title. This keyword or keyword phrase should also be placed early in your title, and should not be accompanied with a lot of other words. If the keyword can be used twice, that is good as well, but you do not want to repeat it more than twice or in a non-sensible way.
1. Do on-site optimization and off-site optimization. Doing one or the other won't cut it. But if you do insist on only doing one, make it off-site optimization. That would be the building of links pointing back to your site. It's one of the keys to getting super high rankings.
2. 'Splatter' your main keywords periodically in your copy. This will create a keyword density for you, which will allow your website to rank higher. A keyword density not higher than 5% is advised. Too high a keyword density would suggest to a search engine's spiders that you trying to 'trick' them.
3. Links optimization: It consist of placing the title tags in the links. You can place one keyword and that particular link name.
4. Image optimization: It means alt tag optimization. You can place one keyword and that image name
If you use or repeat your keywords too often, then a lot of article directories will not accept your article. It is also a well-known fact that if the density of your keywords is too high your article becomes clumsy to read.
So what should you do? Write your article around a tight niche. Optimize your headline and include a couple of mentions of your keyword in the first half of your article. A lot of search engine spiders do not read past the first half of articles. Once you have adopted your keyword, you can include various spellings of it within your article, including the use of plurals.
So why is keyword research and keyword optimization so important? In order to reach your target audience on the Internet you need to know what terms they are using. When doing keyword research and using keyword optimization you are looking for what other people are typing in the search queries. It helps you define what people are trying to find in addition what words they are using to find products and services.
