The New Global Marketplace

by Francesco DiSivo

There is a new global marketplace available for anyone with the skills and the ability to tap into it. That marketplace is the Internet, which is arguably mankind's greatest invention ever. The Internet is a huge dynamic marketplace that brings together buyers and sellers from around the globe. The Internet will literally deliver billions of potential customers directly into your home office, where you can market to them, communicate with them, share information with them and sell to them.

Conducting business across unit is also very cost-effective. The cost of Internet access and a computer to access it can be had for under $500 and in many cases for less than that. Once you're online, you can literally put your message in front of billions and billions of potential customers. Obviously not all of those customers will be interested in your product or service, but nevertheless there has never been a more efficient advertising medium created by man.

A few years ago we heard about the dot com bust, and a lot of people thought that that heralded the end of the Internet as a viable business medium. Nothing could be further from the truth. Today some of the world's biggest retailers rely heavily on the Internet, and it accounts for a huge percentage of their sales. Many businesses that began by using paper catalogs and direct mail as their primary marketing tactic now rely almost entirely on Internet sales to conduct their business.

Depending on your product or service, the Internet also becomes a delivery medium. For example if you sell information or consulting services, much of your work can be done directly across the Internet without ever having to see a client face-to-face or fact to even leave your office. The internet is not only an efficient marketing tool, but it's an efficient business delivery model as well.

Even if you know nothing about business, nothing about the Internet, or how to go about starting a business, the Internet can provide answers for you. Go online and do some research to find an opportunity that fits your lifestyle and fits your needs. Many such opportunities include training and support, mentoring, and coaching that can help the potential entrepreneur get started in the business. This isn't to say that such opportunities are necessarily easy, or free. Like any business, a successful online Internet business requires time, effort and some money. But it can be done and if you choose to do it, you can participate in this huge global marketplace.
